Center pin problems, again

Last time I ordered from brownells I got a replacement center pin and got the wrong part meant for guns with barrels shorter than 2", this time I got the right part, but for a 17-8 or as it 17-6. I have a 17-2 and apparently thats a big enough gap for the parts to no longer fit. Picture below shows the Original (middle), replacement (top) and the short one (bottom).

Just where can I get my hands on a new center pin for my 17-2, this is driving me nuts.

What is wrong with the middle one? You can have one made at a machine shop or a friend with the tools to do it. look here:

The middle one is not straight.

I am also wary of buying a part from there without knowing it will fit. I was hoping someone can educate me on the differences in designs between the generations of M17s

Sir - The old part number we have in stock is #7003. Please measure your old pin from the edge of the collar to the end of the pin (short end) to get an accurate measurement. If they match up, we can fix you up with a new one. Thanks - Judge e mail - [email protected]
