I went into the Post Office today to pick up a change of address form. The postal worker said she could give me the form or I could do it on line if I preferred. Then she said as she was looking at another customer, that cost $1.00. I ask her if she was talking to me or the other customer and she said if you change it on line they charge $1.00.

Now, I never thought of myself as being cheap, but it seems to me if the post office doesn't have to print the form and I do the work it should not cost me $1.00. I told her to give me the form and have a nice day.

We moved back in march and had the same experience. My wife went to the PO and got the same speil. She said give me the change of address card and the clerk got all upset with her and told her he would have to verify her ID in order to submit the form. She told him that wasn't a problem as she was standing right in front of him. They were actually mad that they had to submit the form.

Yeah, the woman gave me a disgusted look and said she should make me go to the back of the line, however step over to the counter and I'll give you a form. Perhaps when all the employees of the USPS join the ranks of the unemployed they will begin to understand what service with a smile means. If it wasn't for junk mail I think they would already be out of business.

Gentlemen, in this day of identy theft it only makes sense that they charge a dollar on your Credit card as you fill out your change of adress on line , otherwise hackers would be redirecting your mail and causing other problems, I had an Ex- wife do this a number of years ago , it was a mess !

Huh? $1.00 prevents identity theft? If I had known that I would never had gotten upset. Thanks for the heads up.

If the USPS is so upset about helping with a change of address, think how upset a Gov't Dr. will be if he has to change your liver.

I found it on line myself and never had to go to the PO. It was worth a dollar not having to stand in line waiting to deal with the people you all did.

In the big city I have had to stand in line at the PO for almost 1/2 hour. It use to be illegals sending MO home. For 2 bucks an hour of my time I would do it online.
