Cheaper Than Dirt! will Resume Online Firearm Sales Pending Policy Changes

Cheaper Than Dirt! recently announced that it was temporarily suspending online sales of firearms pending a review of its order processing and procedures. Well-known for its ability to process and ship orders within 24 hours, online sales have skyrocketed to a point where it may take up to 72 hours for firearms and other items to ship.

"In light of recent events, we believe it is prudent to review our policies and procedures to ensure we can continue to provide the products and firearms our customers demand," said Chief Operations Officer Roberta Wilson. "We will resume online sales once we update our process and continue as we have always done by shipping firearms only to FFL dealers."

Ms. Wilson closed with, "As a long-time supporter of the Second Amendment, we will continue to serve the needs of the firearms community while ensuring our unsurpassed level of quality and customer service."

I usualy don't buy from them anyhow because they are not cheaper.

What's there to review ? What 'policy changes' are needed ? If they are following the legal procedures required, theres nothing else they can do. If theyre not following the legal procedures, theyve got other problems.

I tried to call them yesterday - at least a half dozen time. I got the busy tone each time. So I sent them an email message telling them to stop sending me catalogs and drop me from their mailing list. I'm sure there were many more people who did likewise.

If they later provide a reasonable explanation, an apology if appropriate, and a statement supporting the 2nd Amendment and that points out that we don't have a 'gun problem' but a problem with certain unstable individuals on psychiatric drugs - - - - I may reconsider.

Truth be told, and as mentioned on the other thread, I was done with 'em in 2008 thanks to price-gouging (and would you believe they literally tripled the price on Pmags IMMEDIATELY after announcing their not-quite-48-hour-long policy?). But I do echo the sentiments here and I never bothered to take them off "like" on Facebook until it became an "I've really just had enough with these people..." type situation.

I was done before I even got started they are charging outrageous postage & handling.

They have never been my "go to" place either. They can ping-pong their policies around as much as they want, just don't confuse me with somebody who cares.

Im not happy with CTD. On Thursday I ordered 2 M&P 15 22 mags from them and a houge grip. On Friday I was informed that it had shipped and they provided a tracking number. On Monday I recieved a email from them stating that the 2 mags I ordered were out of stock and they would send me a refund.

This kinda confused me:confused:. I then sent an email to the customer service asking how the items that were packaged and shipped to me on Friday are now out of stock:confused:. As of this morning I had recieved no response:mad:. So I ordered the two mags from Midway.

Over a period of 3 hours, busy signal, I attempted to call customer service and finally talked to a person. I told them I did not want the Houge grip if that was all they sent because the shipping on it was $9,, over half the cost of the grip.

After about 10 min of telling them to keep the hogue grip:mad: they all of the sudden found 2 mags at another location:confused:. They said they would be so KIND as to drop the price of the mags to $15.27 and ship them for free. For some reason these mags were worth alot more because they came from another warehouse, but they were the same S&W factory mags I had orginally ordered.

Whew what a mess!!! now I have 2 extra mags coming from Midway that I don't need:o.

Sorry but I just had to vent a little. I will not be doing business with them again although they did follow through with the order, well we will see when and if it arrives.
