CheaperThanDirt shipping shure ain't

Amazon Prime has free 2 day shipping. I find myself buying more stuff from Amazon now. I got the Apex trigger for my FS M&P 40 a few weeks ago.

Most of the time, the items offered on Prime are at a slightly higher cost than items offered from Amazon (through other sellers) that are not "prime" eligible. It is usually still a good deal for several reasons. The extra cost is usual small and still doesn't erase the savings on not paying for shipping. Plus, it arrives in two days. The point is, I think Amazon Prime is still a good deal (I use it all of the time), but the savings isn't always as much as some may think. It's still always better to look around a little first and then decide what overall price is better.

Started the Prime thing as a Christmas present for the wife. Ordered a few reloading things for myself, this morning. The total cost of the stuff before Prime was $84 something. With Prime, its $78 something. Ordered about 8hrs ago. One item has shipped... be here Sunday. Two other items promised by Monday. I'm gonna like this free, fast shipping thing. I figure that I'll pay for the Prime membership fee in about 4 months.

Speaking of cheap shipping and coming from Hong Kong, I ordered 20 of these knives off eBay to use as Christmas giveaways...$.99 apiece and FREE SHIPPING!

I had them in hand in less than a week. Everyone I gave them to was very appreciative - apparently they were being advertised for $3-$5 around the 'net.

Lol... My daughter got one of those knives from her boyfriend for Christmas.

Midway USA likes to stick it to customers with high shipping prices also.

I love MidwayUSA and used to live right down the road from them, but their shipping charges really are ridiculous. It's best to order $100+ worth of stuff to combine shipping.

I refuse to do ctd after what I heard about their price gouging. Hopefully they lose all their customers. Buds Is good to me so I'd amazon and many others. I don't understand why so many businesses overcharge on shipping.

Also some don't do usps as usps is notorious for lost packages.

Most online stores give it to you in the shorts on shipping. However, if you don't want to waste your time shopping locally and can't find what your looking for, online is the way to go. Amazon has great deals. I buy a lot of stuff from Midway and Brownell's, shipping is reasonable. If you don't like the shipping price on checkout, don't buy. I will never again purchase from CTD.

Cheeper than dirt wanted me to pay 10.99 for the shipping price of 1 M&P magazine, then on top of that a $2.99 handling fee. I am not going to pay that much for shipping a magazine that weighs less than a half a pound boxed up.

I don't get how you can be charged 4 different shipping and handling charges on the same order depending on what items you ordered. I stopped using them after they started that garbage.

This thread is just one more nail in the coffin of disreputable businesses such as "the King of Price Gouging" aka CTD. Brownell's has always treated me right even if there usually are no discount offers or free shipping, I trust they will provide the product I ordered in a timely fashion.

They charge you additional shipping on each item if they aren't all coming from the same warehouse.

I get they are coming from different warehouses but that's not my problem. They are the only ones who do this. Amazon would be a thing of the past if they tried that

You guys are right, after seeing the gouging they were doing after Sandy Hook, I'll never spend another dime there. I understand it's capitalism at it's best, but us consumers who put these people in business were getting screwed over by them just to make a quick buck. I hope they lost a lot of business because of it.

I will never again even look at their flyer they keep sending. It goes right in the trash. They are crooks, and wish S&W's jerry miculek would not endorse them.

I always feel unclean and like I need to shower after I toss their unread flyer in the recycle bin.

Watch those Cardsharp knives in the Airports. The TSA will take them if they detect them, some do get through, a comforting thought or uncomfortable thought depending on who is carrying.

I called up and closed my account right after I saw CTD's gouging. Even told them to quit sending me catalogs. You know, they didn't even ask why I was closing my account!

I got a brand new catalog from them today in the mail and threw it in the trash. I didn't think it was even fit to recycle. I did wash my hand afterwards.

If you order from CTD, you deserve to get screwed. No dinner, no movie, no lube. End of story.
