Check out my $200 Bag o' Parts beater 1911!!

I'd take that "old beater" over an NIB Glock any day of the week. Gimme a box of EC43 steel cased corrosive hardball and I'm 17 again.

Good work.

I really wouldnt call that ugly, more like beautifully restored to working condition. You got a great deal on those parts and turned it into a great looking and functioning pistol! Grats to you. we want updates if you do shoot a comp with it!

I always try to live by the philosophy that beauty is only skin deep.Superficial if you will. That gun is a testimony to that philosophy.Congrats and great job.

Thanks, guys! I think it's pretty cool, too. I have a lot of handguns but, except for my duty gun and BUG, they really don't have much wear on them and most of them are customs, I don't have much in the way of "yard" guns. This is one that I'll be able to wear when I'm working in the garage or mowing, cutting wood, whatever, and not have to worry about banging it around. I think she's going to be seeing plenty of use!

I have a Essex based 45 that is used as a "yard gun". It has killed more coyotes than everything else put together, probably because it is what I have at the time.

BTW, 230 gr lrn knocks yotes down like right now.
