I barely got around to cleaning my new 2nd SD9VE prior to taking it to the range this afternoon. The trigger pin was backing out with manual racking to the slide. I tried pushing it back in and tried using a punch for a slave pin and it fell out. the punch was smaller in diameter. I spent about an hour getting the pin thru all the parts. Well, the pin is undersize and apparently the trigger return spring and the magazine release spring were not in the grooves as they should be. Put the trigger group back in and function tests are perfect. Don't know if anyone else has had this problem. Just a heads up if your pin is walking out, the springs are not in their notches.

i have a SD40VE that the trigger pin continues to come out but only during firing. i cannot even manually push the pin out. i have taken it apart and do not see a groove where the trigger spring should sit. would rather not send it to S&W for repair if there is something i can do. the gun has also jammed everytime i've had it at the range but not sure what causes this. 160 rounds total 40 rounds each trip, 4 trips. not even had this gun for 14 days yet. the store would not take the gun back. :/

edit: i do want to edit and say my main concern here is the trigger pin coming out. as far as jamming i understand ammo and myself could be a culprit here and i will work on this. the jamming has gotten better after a cleaning and i'm paying more attention to my grip on the gun. i have also taken apart and wiped down only one mag. thanks for all help regarding the trigger pin issue. this is my first gun, the manual doesn't go in to help with the trigger etc

A drop of blue loc-tite on the end of the pin should solve your problem.

I would respectfully disagree. I do not believe that loctite is a good idea for this application. Don't do it! :)

That's fine. Just speaking from experience when the pin started walking on my SW40. Haven't had the issue since.

I too would like to hear the better option.

Bump this... Anyone have another option for this problem? I noticed mine had backed out a bit to the left after my last trip to the range.
