I think I was a member but somehow got deactivated sometime ago. In any event my SW interest was born by looking at my father's K-38, which was stolen shortly after he passed prematurely when I was 5. I too became a shooter, but could not afford to buy a gun until I finally was able to get a hold of a Targetmaster 52-2 in .38 W.C.;Living in Colombia it was very expensive to buy ammo and I became a reloader. I achieved superb scores with that pistol. I own 2 of those, plus an old 4 screws K-38 just like my father's and some other guns, among them an old model 16 (K-32) and a modern 16-4 6" (sadly discontinued). My current "project" is to make a conversion from a model 19 into a .327 Fed Mag but as you all know, cylinders in .32 with the necessary length are near impossible to obtain. And I do not want to alter (reaming) my 16-4 yet. Any suggestions or advise will be greatly appreciated

There was a legendary revolversmith named Hamilton Bowen who was working with the .327 Federal in K-frames for a while. I believe he is retired now.

I believe the shortest route to what you want given what you have is to find a modern Model 17, 18 or 48 cylinder and modifying that cylinder for .32 cal and fitting that cylinder to your Model 16-4. This won’t modify the 16-4 in any way the revolver is well equipped to handle it.

S&W should have made these themselves… but there’s a lot of stuff S&W should have done!

Welcome back to the forum and I hope to see you in the semiautomatic pistol area talking about your Model 52 pistols. I’m a big fan of them myself.
