Firearms Inventory tagging Question

I am thinking of putting a tag of some kind on my revolvers. I have several Americans and Victory models that all look the same and I figured I could match the tag with my documentation I keep in a binder.

Any recommendations? I have seen brass tags used before, but not sure which is recommended. Any ideas welcome.

BTT - does anyone use a physical method of inventorying their firearms?

I keep my inventory on a spreadsheet with appropriate data and a hang tag on the trigger guard with string for easy removal should a range trip occur.

I use a larger version of these and attach them to my pistol rugs, so I can easily tell what's inside. I also mantain an excel spreadsheet.

Have the same on gun socks for long guns, easy to grab the right one.

I do the spreadsheet and accompanying tag on the gun trigger as mentioned above, otherwise, there would be no way to keep track of them. It like herding cats
