Cylinder swaps

Am wondering if I can acquire a 6 shot cylinder to use in my 686-4 +. What must I consider to make this happen.

My purpose is to use it in IDPA and icore

You will need a cylinder and possibly the hand. Sometimes the same hand will work with both 6 and 7 shot cylinders, sometimes each one needs it's own. It all depends on how the ratchets were cut on each cylinder. You can shoot ICORE with a 7 shot gun if you want.
