I'm not panicking and not about to go out and buy a bunch of ammo and components that I don't need. Everytime we get a tidbit of news alluding to an ammunition or component shortage, the whole shooting community goes nuts and people start hoarding. I have what I need; no reason to panic buy and make the situation worse.

American companies have "outsourced" everything to China including medicines. This is so wrong. And those American companies say that they are doing it to keep prices down. That is BS. They are only doing it to keep their profits high. Critical items should ALWAYS be kept IN HOUSE and any outsourcing should be denied at all costs.

Antimony mines were idled in the late 90's or early 00's IIRC in the SW. Nitrocellulose is made from easily found materials. It amazes me that people think we can outsource production with no risks.

I guess if you really believe we are sitting around a world campfire singing kum by ya it is all good.

CEO's want that bonus $$$$. They all cry about being "beholden to shareholders" & thus HAVE to cut costs in order to keep their bonus checks coming.

If your dividends dropped from $100 a share to $1, what would YOU do? Be honest about it.

Buy gold and silver, the original currency of the world.
Stocks, bonds and all fiat currency will just be junk.

As I understand it, there is currently only one USA producer of NC, which is the Radford Army Ammunition Plant in Virginia. And all of their production is for military use. Radford produces mainly large caliber propellants and rocket propellant and also supplies NC to St. Marks in Florida. That is where small caliber military propellant is made. Also, all TNT production is at Radford. Most all powder for other uses comes in from foreign sources. When I worked at Hercules many years ago, I was a frequent visitor to Radford, as Hercules was then the operator.

The largest single propellant plant was the Indiana Army Ammunition Plant, across the river from Louisville. They made everything from rifle powder to 16” powder for the Navy. It was shut down and largely dismantled after the Vietnam War. During WWII, at its peak it was making a million pounds of propellants PER DAY on six parallel production lines. I was in charge of the environmental cleanup project there about 15 years ago.

Good thing I stocked up on the last bit of ammo I really needed just recently...

It's funny, I kept having this nagging feeling that I should do so sooner rather than later, so ultimately I caved in an ordered some bulk 5.56 M193. Good thing I did, because as if folks weren't already going to start hoarding ammo before the election, this will drive it over the edge.
