If anyone on the forum who reads Chinese would be kind enough to translate the characters on these handpainted silk wall hangnings, I'd really appreciate it.

They have been adorning the walls of our house for years and today I got curious enough to take some quick pics! :)

Thanks in advance!!!

Apparently it's from the pre-internet days.A man in China says he found a S&W in a rice paddy and needs help identifying it.He wants to know what it's worth.That's the top hanging.

The bottom hanging asks to close the thread.He traded it for two chickens and a bottle of rice wine.

Dear Lord... here we go!!:eek::eek::eek::D

My Chinese is some what rusty as it's been many years since I lived above the buffet in Chinatown while I was dancing on Broadway, but loosely translated....

It says.... Never mind, I'm not going there. No, that's not what is says translation wise. It's what I said, not what the writing says. What the writing says is, Oh, just forget it. No, that's not what the cloth says. Oh for Pete's sake, how do I get myself into these things.

cant see it well enough to for my very limited translation skills - the top right character looks to be 100 & the red character at the bottom left is the signature - that is usually a stamp

sorry I cant tell you more than that

The Forum translator didn't ding any of the symbols so I know how I'm going to post from here on!:D:D:D

父亲节快乐!

Rough translation is "Happy father's day!"
