The chipmunk population around here this year is the most I have seen in twenty years. They have commandeered the bird feeders so bad the birds won't even come close while they are filling their jowls with sunflower seeds. They are too quick for my dog to catch, but the torment the crap out of him. Finally, I found something that works on reducing their population. I have neighbors too close to use a real gun, so I got the next best thing. A Gamo PT80, CO2 powered .177 pellet pistol. It looks and feels just like a Beretta Cougar. So far I've taken out two chipmunks while they sit in the bird feeder on my porch deck. Beside that its fun to shoot.
