Has anybody had problems with the spent casings nicking up the side of the ejector port? The back top corner is getting nicked up. On the upper front corner there's actually a chunk of plastic that's been taken out. Doesn't affect the operation of the gun, but I'm worried that it will continue to get eaten away and the potential for a crack to form from the stress riser. Haven't had an oob, but some of the spent casings seem to hit the upper frame on the way out. Only had 500 rounds through it.

Thanks

mine is mint after 1000s of rounds. It eats all types of ammo like candy.

16k+ rounds and the polymer finish looks as good as the day I bought it.

Sounds like yours has had ejection issues. Is that right? In any event, if you wanted to send it back to S&W I'd bet they would replace the upper.

I haven't had any FTE issues other than it hitting the receiver on the way out occasionally. I did see the casing that took the chip out. It was the second round of two quick shots.

I've only had two FTF in that 550 brick. I just bought the gun a month ago so I might be give it a few more months to see what happens. If it continues I'll send it in.

I have noticed a few small nicks in my case defelctor right where it meets the upper but not in the opening itself. I am thinking about placeing a small section of velcro on it.

Unfortunately, they wont. My gun was catching the spent casings and jamming them into the upper, causing gouges or chips. I asked, and wrote, for it to be fixed and was ignored.
