Chopped Full Size M&P 9

Yes, slide and barrel from full size M&P 45 goes right on the M&P 45C frame. The frames are same length, only difference is the short grip. Function was perfect. Put the M&P 45C back to stock and sold it to finance another project. Should have done photos, but this is an easily repeated swap by anyone with the two pistols.

I have the FS45 and liked the hand grip. The mid size felt better than the 45c. C was just a little too short gripped for me. Nice idea though.

So they are. I learned something new today. :D

Seems like a good idea. Basically, an M&P40C with a longer barrel. I like my 9C for the same reason. Compact 10-round when I want it, full size gripped 17-round when I want that. For ME, the C is accurate enough at the distances I want to shoot, but it's a great idea if you want or need the longer sight radius (I doubt there's a real difference in accuracy, other than that).

MP1SG....VERY NICE! Disregard the trolls who only want to send negative vibes, some need a little more of a life or a little more thought before they post.

Thanks. Ya, Its not for everyone, But the balance is really unbelievable. The long slide aids in recoil management, aids in a second follow up shot. The chopped grip is comfortable while riding a car, i always found guns with a longer grip always poked into the seat where i would have to move the gun to get comfortable. Its a nice weapon, I plan on putting a few rounds through it tonight
Thanks

Put some more rounds through my chopped M&P, just over 450 now without a single malfunction. I have shot some Federal Champion, Winchester white Box, Aguila (which has been very reliable and accurate) some of my Buddies reloads and some GDHP 124 gr +P which is my carry load.
So far I am very pleased with this custom job, Like I said earlier, the gun feels very balanced in my hand.

More to follow

How are you digging the trigger Alex? This one had a MA trigger (10lbs). A trigger job was done to bring in down to about 5.5lbs with a tactile reset.

Smooth as butter, A noticable reset and NO grity feeling in the trigger. Real Real nice

As an Illinois resident getting ready finally for conceal carry, I think I'm going to get my full size m&p 40 chopped. I got my crossbreed supertuck and no matter what position the grip still prints. Wife actually said get a new gun, but I think I will chop theffull-size, then still by something. LOL. The only downside is the smaller mag capacity.

I figure I'd chime in.. I do about 2-3 of M&P chops a month.. I think it's because of the appendix carry fad and getting the best of both worlds..Easy to conceal and a full size gun if need.Longer sight radius and better recoil management due to the heavier slide than a compact and you can still change backstaps the way I do it if needed.

This one chopped with 360 texture , carry melt and sniper grey Cerakote

First post here on the forums, researching what it takes to chop a full size. Do you cut the backstrap as well? What about the tool? Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
