Ok, lets go just a little bit more contemporary. Chris Isaac is to my mind, a bit of a throw back. In the 1990s he was evocative of the sixties but with a modern edge. A little bit hard to describe. When I was working I kept one of his CDs in my car all the time. It didn't hurt that I was a fan of David Lynch movies. When he fell off the charts it was rather abrupt.
Here's one of his earlier hits. I also love the guitar work.

His TV series was pretty good also, the first one. I think it was on Showtime (Youtube clip of his show). He played himself and his band was on there also. He had another show later on where he interviewed musicians and would play a few songs with them. I have always enjoyed his music.

Big CI fan here, been to many of his shows and boy howdy does he put on a good one. Lots of talent in the band. I really enjoy Hershel Yatovitz.

He does have that throwback, old time rock a billy sound.
I saw him a few years ago on a Christmas special and became a fan.
Some of his songs have more steel guitar than the so called country bands.

Timn8er, I wanted to link to that video but thought I might get a whoopin'.

That video won the MTV Video Music Awards for Best Male Video.
She was with him and didn't seem friendly towards him very much... oh well.
