I would narrow my choice down to either a single shot "Perfected" model as I have some interest in Bullseye shooting or a Model 2.

I think I'd say the Model 2 by a slight margin as I always find myself wondering what the history is of older guns and given the era the Model 2 was made would heighten that sense of wonder.

Factory original 8 inch Model 2. Answer to why is unnecessary. :D

2nd choice - cased pair of Nimschke engraved Model 2's. Again, answer to why is unnecessary.

Another vote for a Model 2 "Old Army". And Santa, please bring me one with a lot of documented history with it. Maybe you could work out a deal with Pace. One of his for that 8" Model 2 he's asking for. He has one that belonged to Sgt. John Ulam that is very nice. And don't forget all the interesting pictures and documents that goes with the gun. Thank you Santa. ;)

Model 2 project

I would have to add my vote f0r the Model number 2 .I have one converted to 22 that is just for fun Mike the 8 inch has been shot some 15 years ago, John Otteman and I had a couple that we did on special occasions shoot.

Another vote for the No.2, one early enough to have been a Civil War gun, that there could have been the slightest possibility my Great Grandfather could have carried. I'd mount it in a display along side all the documents I have for his promotions to Corporal, Sargent, his Discharge, and his Pension award.

I'm going to dream big. I would like Santa to bring me a factory 6 inch 1st model 38 Safety Hammerless. It is mentioned in most of the gun price guides, but no one that I have talked to has ever seen one. That includes Safety collectors who have been trying for more than 30 years. A nice stocking stuffer would be a 32 Safety with a factory lanyard ring. That would make a very nice Chrismas for me.

Err... If Santa would kindly bring my Ladysmith HE Second Model home from the shop, that would be very nice. Maybe Santa would send for a factory letter while he's cruising the neighborhood. I'm located 100 miles from Springfield... wonder how far from home she's been.

A .44-40 Frontier DA or .44 Russian DA with a factory snub nosed barrel.
I don't think such an animal exists but if there's one out there, I'd like to have it :)

A S&W 547

Thanks to Redhawk1, aka Alex, my antique S&W Christmas present is on the way. It's an antique, not because it is so old, but that S&W doesn't make them anymore. The 547 will be my present this year, or at least for that week! Alex has made this transaction the easiest possible and if anyone else has the pleasure of dealing with him, it will be your best fortune. He is Santa's best elf.
