If someone else posted about it, I missed it, but actor and WW2 veteran Christopher Lee died on the 11th. He was 93.
He served in Special Operations in WW2, but refused to discuss it. He actually knew Ian Fleming.
A story circulates about Lee, on the LOTR trilogy, having a discussion with Peter Jackson where the director was trying to tell him to stab. Lee said he was perfectly aware lf the sounds a man made when his lungs were punctured from personal experience.
Dracula...the awful Star Wars prequels, the LOTR...he was doing his own sword work into his 80s and claimed to be a descendant of Charlemagne.
He was so popular in the 70s that I was named after him, true story.
Dusty Rhodes, aka the American Dream, also went to the great beyond in the last few days. His forehead terribly scarred from blading, he looked tired in his last TV appearances. Still, it is sad to see him go. He was one of a kind and a larger than life character. I imagine he will get the ten bells salute on Monday.
