I have made more than a few people mad in the family when I tell them I refuse to go to or cater to businesses with these types of policies. I understand they are private businesses and can do what they like, but they also have to understand that I will not spend my money in a place like that where if some person with ill intent wanted to go, they would find nothing but targets instead of someone who can shoot back. Granted, if I had to go to one of those places, I tend to be carrying concealed and really was too busy with something else to notice any signs. If they were to ask me to leave, well, bye.

This from people that are DEMANDING $15 a hour pay for their so hard to acquire skills.

Here's more evidence of the mentality of some fast food workers.
15 bucks an hour, indeed.

I'm okay with it. I don't see myself as significantly different from a police officer (though our warped society certainly does!). As just another citizen, if I can't carry, I see no reason why an officer should be able to carry.

The 2nd Amendment asserts our right to carry BECAUSE we are members of the militia. That doesn't change when we go into Upchuck-e-Cheeze.

Actually it does.
On my property, I can trespass a cop off unless he is actively in the line of duty. Warrant or hot pursuit. Same at a store. You can trespass for no shoes or shirt, you can trespass for a gun. The 2A only effects government actions. The store is not the government, and is exerting property rights, the same as you can with your property. Their property, their decision to make.

You are not required to intervene in a domestic disturbance. You are not required to walk into a dark alley. You are not required to drag dead bodies out of car crashes. You are not the same as a cop.

This was not a "Chucky Cheese" action. This was one misguided manager who is probably receiving career advice right now.

Once was enough for me too....

Their mascot is a Rat!!!

**A lot of the BGPD detectives wear 5-11s and polo's, not all wear class A's

.

We have a Greensboro PD Detective at my church and we have been doing so bathroom up-fits and he is helping a lot and I have seen him with cargo pants and a Polo shirt and it has the GPD logo and badge emblem sewn right on the shirt.

This was a dumb thing to do. But just like with our regular Post Office, Cabela's etc, threads, let's not get too excited with wholesale condemnations.

No doubt this was a bad judgment call. But I think it might also be appropriate to dial back the outrage a bit. This was not, as the OP phrased it, a "uniformed police officer". All she wore to identify her was a polo with a department logo, according to the linked story. And I have one of those from our local PD that I won at a charity raffle.

From the linked article:

"Our firearms policy does not apply to officers in uniform. We do have a no firearms policy for civilians and off-duty non-uniformed officers, but officers in uniform are always welcome to bring in their firearms," Chuck E. Cheese spokeswoman Alexis Lynn told the station.

I tried to get all worked up about this. Couldn't do it.
