I'm about to pull the trigger on an M&P .40c. Is it true the barrel can be swapped with a 9mm barrel. I know this is true for the Shield, just wasn't sure about the .40c. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks!!!

Yes u can same as shield just need the mags for the 9 some say the 40 ones work but not all the time

It was true on the 40c for about 4 years before the Shield.... ;)

The mags will work but the slide will lock back with a round still in the mag sometimes. Use 9mm mags if you want perfect functioning.

I have a 40c and bought a factory 9c barrel. Dropped it in with no mag changes and probably after 500 rounds, not a single failure.

You can also put a .357sig barrel in a 40C. Since .357sig has the same mags as .40 cal all you'll need is a barrel. Having 9MM conversion plus a .357sig conversion will give you more ammo choices in this ammo-short climate. Although I've never shot .357sig I know many that have & they all say it's a great round.
