...Clark Gable Gets Disarmed...

But Clark Gables Jaguar XK120 still waits for him at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway

Just A Car Guy: Petrolicious has come across another cool car, Clark Gable's Jaguar XK 120

Clark Gable had four XK120 Jaguars. His last one is just a few chassis number away from mine. Gable got the first choice of one of the last shipments of XK120s that came arrived in the Fall of 1954. Charles Hornburg, the Western US importer for Jaguars grabbed my car for himself.

After Gable got his first all alloy XK120, his friend Gary Cooper got one for himself.

From the looks on their faces, I think this couple was already aware of the obvious jokes concerning her handling his pistol.

She was okay, but I think Gable's hottest lady friend was Grace Kelly.

If there is such a thing as reincarnation I want to come back as Rhett Butler; "Frankly my dear..."

...both Grace Kelly and Ava Gardner starred with him in "Mogambo"...I have to vote Ava Gardner...

You'd lose. Although he was with Gardner's character in the film, on the side, he and Grace were a hot couple, and he took her on a real safari after they wrapped filming on the movie.

At this time, Gardner was Frank Sinatra's lady on the side, and he visited her during filming.

BTW, there's a pic of Princess Grace on the Net with a rifle that looks like a .275 Rigby made then. Looks just like the Rigby catalog art. It's not the rifle seen here. Gable also had a M-70 Winchester .270 on hand, but i don't recall if it was in the film. I've seen a pic of it leaning against a hut in a native village.
The photo caption noted the caliber and that it was Gable's.

BTW, Grace wore boots that looked a lot like Russell's Birdshooters, recommended by author Robert C. Ruark.

Does anyone else see a resemblance in one of the Joan Crawford photos and model Candice Swanepoel?
In particular, her forehead and lips remind me of Candice. Of course, Candice is blonde. I love her accent. Unlike her fellow South African Charlize Theron, Candice doesn't try to sound American.
