This bunch covers a lot as far the classic era goes.
Maybe my favorites of my collection.
I’ve acquired all these since Jan. (The 25 from a member here)
The 45 colt or my 25-2 ACP, at least for my level and taste, seem to be the most pleasant and satisfying to shoot from and accuracy/power ratio standpoint.
Once I get into magnum territory, the kick anticipation kicks in and I lose the control.
Full load 44 mags are not pleasant to shoot. After one cylinder it’s enough. I’ll have to stock up on 44 SP.
I’m slowly getting around to photographing each one and adding the serial number for the record.

All beautiful acquisitions. I really like the 27-2. As far as aesthetically pleasing goes, hard to beat a 5” blued N frame. BUT I’ve found that I like em all :)

From all of your recent Posts, it appears that you're trying to corner the market on vintage S&W N-frames! Did you win the Lottery? LOL!

Seriously though, you have acquired a number of very nice revolvers and I'm sure that you will be adding to your collection in the future. Most of my modest collection consists of blued P&R N-frames, and includes some Model 28s and 57s. But in the past few years I started to appreciate the nickel plated versions, so I do have a few shiny N-frames, too.

I agree, the .44 Magnum recoil is pretty stout and takes some practice to make it manageable. It's a little better with the .41 Magnums, and better yet with N-frame .357s. The .45 ACP, .45 Colt, and .44 Spl. are just plain fun.

Just FYI...I keep a Word document that details every firearm purchase (and the occasional sale or trade). Model no., caliber, s/n, when & where I obtained it, the price, approx. current market value, the condition, did it have box/tools, and any modifications or accessories I added. Every year I update the current market value info and update any accessories (holsters, optics, etc.). I do this primarily for insurance purposes, and for my wife and family should I suddenly depart this earth. I also have a complete set of photos on our computer. Enjoy!

Ah yes, the joys of Smith & Wesson collecting. As for inventory control, I used to keep tabs with MS Word but I let things slip away. A friend, who has an FFL and sets up at the shows around here, suggested I should keep better records. After three days of dragging guns out of the safes and display cases I have recorded every thing on an Excel sheet. S&W revolvers by caliber, semi-auto pistols, rifles and shotguns. Columns for SN, barrel length, finish, features, price, etc., etc. I was a real hassle but it was worth it.

A 4” N frame 44 Maggie in my estimation is the ultimate handgun. Looks, feel, usefulness etc……. P&R even better.

Don’t forget the early Model 17 & 18. They were pinned and recessed and have a lot of allure.

When talking about Pinned and Recessed revolvers it is very difficult to not love the gun that started it all back in 1935, the N-Frame 357 magnum.

Most all of mine are Post War firearms, but they are my favorite P&Rs

But then there are some Model 19/66s that I am also quite fond of. Funny how many of my shooters are snubbys. While most of the others are Commemoratives

Then there is my model 19 Deluxe TX Ranger. This is actually one of my best finds. Looked at several of the Deluxe Texas Rangers each one is engraved slightly differently and I think mine has the best looking backstrap of any I've seen.

I do own more Pinned and Recessed Smith and Wesson revolvers but they are not photographed
