After voting, i decided to venture into Wm for the hell of it when i almost lost vision due to eyes popping out on this DvD display they just put out over night.

If any here like collecting DvDs--from the actual Studios and not public domain stuff, and dont like spending more than a few bucks, then this thread is for you.

I was crusing by the new Sci Fi dispay where they are SUPPOSED to be selling many ofthose 1950s and 1960s Japanese monster movies including: Godzilla, Mothra, King Kong etc--when I saw this dispay with some great titles listed. $4 bucks each:

All Quiet On the Western Front. (Lew Ayers, Louis Wohlheim and Slim Summerville.)
Beau Geste (Gary Cooper, Robert Preston, Brian Donlevy etc)
Unconquered (first time I saw this and Beau Geste for sale here) w/ Gary Cooper, Ward Bond, John Carradine etc)
For whom the Bell Tolls w/ Gary Cooper & Ingrid Bergman.
Fahrenheit 451 w/ Oskar Werner, Julie Christie and Anton Differing.
King Kong vs Godzilla w/Names nobody here are probably remotely familiar with.
To Hell and Back w/ Audie Murphy, Marshall Thompson, Charles Drake, Paul Picerni, David Janssen and Denver Pyle.
Midway w/ Charlton Heston, Henry Fonda and others.
MacArthur w/ Eldred Gregory Peck and others.
4 Pack DvD for $4 bucks: Wake Island w/Brian Donlevy, Robert Preston and others, Battlehymn w/ Rock Hudson and others, Grey Lady Down w/ Charlton Heston, David Carradine, Ned Beatty and others, and finally: to Hell and back.
4 pack DvD: for $4 bucks: Albuquerque w/ Randolph Scott, Duel At Silver Creek w/ Audie Murphy, Whispering Smith w/ Alan Ladd, William Demarest etc, War Arrow w/ Jeff Chandler.

I cant remember but, I THINK I also saw Allegheny Uprising there too. this is the only "Continental period" movie Duke ever made. Eddy Waller, Claire Trevor, George Sanders, Brian Donlevy, Chill Wills Wilfrid Lawson and others.

Walmart rarely scores a homerun with me--let alone even gets more than a few foud balls but, today-they scored a home run.:D

Duly noted, but I'm still working my way through the Honeymooners,
and "Combat" through Netflix.

I havent "done" The Honeymooners in years but,I have the complete COMBAT box set. It was "on sale" for $225.00 several years ago at Deep Disount DvD, I think the reg price was around $500? at that time.

I gave upon Netflix about 5 years ago and aint looked back. I prefer DvDs anyway--at least I KNOW those will work when I need em. :-))

I really have to force myself to go and look. Our Wal Mart is not a place we like to go to very often.

Did you mention Fahrenheit 451?? CLASSIC!!:)

I dont like Wm either but--every now and then-they do hit home runs with me. Yepper---its on the same display as the othes mentioned. They also had others too--but I cant quite call them classics--like: Windtalkers? platoon, and some others. Fortunately--I already had most of the older ones so didnt need to spend there. I pucked up three--one from the Sci Fi display--but got : For whom the Bell Tolls and Fahrenheit 451.

My wife calls them my collection of old, moldy, black and white movies...

"We" still need to keep colleting them too--just in case the entertainment industry finally ceases to exist as a source of entetainment.:D I lost count on what I have? probably around 1,000 or more movies, hundreds if not thousands of TV episodes. :D Just for "B" Westerns--I still need approx 4,900 some-odd B. Westerns to go :-)) :D
