Has anyone been using Alliant Clay Dot for .38 or .44 loads? It is sold as a direct replacement for Hodgdon Clays and it crosses over grain for grain in 12 Gauge but there is no data yet for metallic that I can find.
Thanks

Alliant Clay Dot was specifically manufactured to be identical to Hodgdon Clays. Yes, Alliant is doing some copy catting. It is cheaper and American made however.

Just follow Hodgdon Clays data to the tee.

Thanks,
I e-mailed Alliant with request for handgun data per their instruction but have not heard back yet. I talked to one shooter that has tried some light loads in .38 and has had good luck. I guess the thing to do is load a few .38's and shoot them in an 'N' Frame and see what happens.
Believe me, if I could get Clays I would not even try.
