So...any necessity in cleaning the interior of the bolt/firing pin/etc? I suspect it gets a bit of grime in there. I could stand it on end and drip some CLP through it, then blow it out w/ compressed air. Or is there no need for such things?

Also, after shooting, there is always a small pile of what appears to be sand in the little recess in the lower behind the FCG. Is it powder grains or something?

Thanks

I've used non chlorinated break parts cleaner to spray out the bolt several time, cheap and effective and evaporates fast. As for the "sand" I've noticed it too, and use a rag on the end of a cleaning rod to clean it out, but not sure if it is sand, although it appears to be dirt, I think it's residue.

What ammo are you using. I shot Blazer ammo and will never shoot it again because it does leave the powder "sand" all over the inside of your lower. Federal bulk is not as bad but still leaves some powder behind and CCI mini mags leave the least and in my opinion shoots the best as well.

^Mini-mags. Not a lot of sand/powder/residue, but enough to notice. Seems like it could really bugger up the trigger if there was a lot of it.
