Approximately when did S&W go from the finger loop rods to the knurled ones? Also, iirc, the new knurled ones were all the same length, or am I mistaken? When they changed, was that also when they went to the flat SAT's and got away from the regular screwdriver style? Thanks in advance..

One more try.... Any partial answers would be appreciated..;)

Post-war kits had looped end rods in lengths to match barrel length
Black sight adjustment tools with knurled tops then a couple of variations
of SAT's with fluted aluminum tops and different length shafts.

1961-1964 Alum fluted, long taper end
1964-1988 Alum fluted, short taper end

About 1988 the kits were supplied with a straight end in at least 2 lengths and in 1988 a flat round 4 blade, key chain tool.

From 1991-1992 a flat 2 blade tool w/hole.

After 1991 sold without SAT or cleaning tools.

The dates are approximate, like my shooting, I do not guarantee the accuracy.
