I would not recommend taking the bolt assembly apart, if that's what you are asking. Just remove the bolt and charging handle, give the bolt a good cleaning and a light coat of oil/CLP or whatever you like to use,but use a good quality oil and cleaner, and clean the chamber well, and the bore of course.

If all else fails, refer to your user manual that came with the rifle, it explains how to disassemble the rifle for cleaning.

No problem! You are welcome...everyone has to start somewhere, and I know, I always have questions and concerns also, so we are all here to help each other out to learn from each other and share our experiences and opinions.

most people just run a bore snake through it with a little lube, not much cleaning at all for this rifle.

Anecdotal evidence indicates a scrupulously clean chamber is necessary to prevent partial chambering of cartridges and subsequent out of battery (OOB) discharges. Avoid picking up dropped cartridges as the external lubricant on them will pick up dirt.

Other then using a chamber brush all that seems necessary is pulling a Bore Shake thru the bore, cleaning the bolt carrier group with CLP, and brushing out the lower receiver. Exactly as you're clean the M16 other than the bolt doesn't disassemble so just clean it externally.
