I recently purchased a Model 19 factory box that came with all the papers and tools. This aluminum cleaning tip was in the box as well. Did Smith & Wesson include these tips with any of their cleaning kits or is it just another tip that found it's way into the box? Thanks

I had a Model 29 that came with a cleaning rod, an extension, bore swab & eyelet. This was decades ago.

I doubt there's rhyme or reason involved in these sorts of things. IMO.

That little gadget was in my Hoppe's Gun Cleaning Kit & Storage Box I bought in 1978. The price sticker is on the box at a whopping $6.99. I still use the kit.

Here's Amazon's version https://a.co/d/16qVgv0

On Hoppe's site its $22.95.

I have an aluminum cleaning tip exactly like yours and cannot be certain where I got it from. Possibly came with a Model 15-? that I purchased LNIB back in the late 1970's. I too was hoping someone would confirm that S&W did ship these cleaning tips with some of their new revolvers.
