Ok....maybe I dont get out much....however....was watching the Clint Eastwood Movie last nite...."Blood Work"...and he pulled out his Revolver...told the bad guy..."This is an 8 Shot Smith and Wesson".....my immeadiate reaction was....."hollywood goofed again."....Ive got a 5 shot S&W.....and a 6 Shot......but EIGHT.???..no such animal..!!...then got to checking and found out......there really is one!......Have patience with me here....but how long have the 8 shots been around...and are they popular..??....and my thought would be that an 8 shot would be a bit oversize maybe.?.....anyway....enlighten me guys........I appreciate your comments...........Gerhard..."The Ole Sarge"

The 8 shot .357 has been around since about 1997. The Performance Center 627-PC has been termed "the Bloodwork gun". Clint had a fluted cylinder on his, so he could be like SmithNut! :)

If you want one, be prepared to pay out around $1400 to $2000 depending on condition and box and docs.

For current models, got my R8 less than a year ago for considerably less than above.

While it's a great revolver, even with the lock, my favorite is my 25-2.

OK, so we've left off the 7 and the 10 shooters, too? Don't count the other guys shots and think you know when he's empty!

I don't have anything to really add but I never miss a chance to post pictures of mine

It is a very nicely balanced gun. it shoots normal 38 specials that feel like 22s and mid power 357 mags are fast on follow ups. I sometimes shoot it in the Outlaw IDPA division and it is sweet.
