These days I prefer him behind the camera rather than in front.
Unless he's next to an empty chair.

Yeah, I bet he's very fit relative to age; I think he's always looked after himself - he was an elite climber awhile back - 5.9 grade or something - there's a specific grading system for climbers I read. He'd have to think up something relevant to 80 somethings that would be believable for the film.
Just thought of this as I type: if you want to consider an action movie, how about this: Say he plays a retired cop enjoying retirement - playing golf, shooting - which Clint does anyway. A relative of an adversary he put away/shot whatever, say from over 40 years ago decides he's going to get revenge by making the retirement a whole lot less enjoyable before ending the retirement...
This could be a good thriller with lots of scope for suspense, action, flashbacks to a different time and guns etc and a good realistic role for Clint - cops do retire and some criminals DO try and get revenge...
I'm sure there's plenty of retired cops on here; thoughts?
I think that he would be great leading the other rest home residents against a middle age fat sadistic female staff dietician that makes them eat carbs. After she resigns when Clint calls her bad names and points his hands like guns at her, the end would be Clint pulling steaks out of the freezer and vegetables out of the fridge right before he breaks open a safe full of hoarded Metamucil and hands it out to his fellow long suffering but now joyous fellow rest home guests.
Being a little harsh today, are we not? I think most of his fans here would love to see him continue to make movies--as long as they are not all of the same type of lovey dovey theme.
Strictly for humor purposes, I even like him in Kelly's Heroes.
He wants to keep working and why not? he's still got a few great stories to tell us. Also, those like James Coburn, Charles Bronson, Gregory Peck, James Stewart, Ernest Borgnine and Eli Wallach--all gave us good stuff till most of them passed away. Thankully,Eli Wallach (who is in his 90s) is still acting.![]()
