Do they make a clipdraw for an M&P that is bolted to the backplate like a glock and not to the slide?
No thanks. I will rely on a quality holster for my safety.Thank you for your concern. I am trying to find this for someone. I know that they make ones that screw into the slide but what I am really looking for is one that screws into the back plate.
P.S. If you are really concenerned about the safety aspects of a clip draw you could carry without a round chambered. I can chamber a round in less than .5 seconds.
Have you been to the Clipdraw site? The Universal Clipdraw (side mount) version you're referring to does not screw into the slide. The Clipdraw base plate (that the clip screws into) secures to the slide via a very durable 'command strip' type of tape. (they claim the tape does not deteriorate with normal use of cleaning solution)Thank you for your concern. I am trying to find this for someone. Or... get a version of the M&P that has a manual safety.P.S. If you are really concerned about the safety aspects of a clip draw you could carry without a round chambered. I can chamber a round in less than .5 seconds.

The best answer would come from emailing Clipdraw itself.
Thank you for your help. I really appreciate it.
Certainly you could if you did not have a bag of groceries or just one arm available to rack the slide! There are many circumstances where you would be a "dead man carrying" try racking a slide after withdrawing your weapon from wherever you keep it and I am sure you will find that over 5 seconds have passed this is after you have determined that you need to draw and fire to stay alive and that the first shot should count, hey kid you ain't the "Flash" in a bad situation you might even freeze, if in fact you are that fast then I suggest you make a video of your fast draw and racking while about ten guys are after you!Thank you for your concern. First off I'd drop the groceries reguardless of how I am carrying. Second off all people inherently have a fight or flight response hard wired into their brain. If some some runs up behind you do you duck or run? I automatically raise my fists instinctively. Some people condition themselves to try to fight their programming to mixed results. Honestly and I know this is going to sound macho but I don't mean it that way."I am not running unless I am coming at you." I have not the slightest bit of doubt in my mind that I won't freeze, I wasn't born that way.Certainly you could if you did not have a bag of groceries or just one arm available to rack the slide!
