Here in Southern Nevada we have a good many vets that happen to be homeless. I was packing up some winter clothes to take down to LV and thought I'd post a request for our members to donate a little something for the homeless, especially the vets. Vet's or not, it gets darn cold in the winter for anybody that's homeless. Any and all donations are appreciated. Thanks.

Contact "Operation Stand Down"=most likely through your local VFW post. Might be too late for this year. Last year, wife and I helped out. Literally, thousands of sleeping bags, many brand new,and parkas, and long underwear, thinsulate & gore-tex gloves, boots, socks, fleece jackets==all donated by the manufacturers. Our VFW post also provided counseling, meals, and haircuts. Locals (including my Masonic Lodge) helped distribute items. Took 3 days to unload the semis full of stuff.

For instance, the piles of sleeping bags were about 50' long and to the ceiling of the gymnasium. Wool blankets were in a shipping crate about 15 x 15 and 6-8' high. same for winter gloves and mittens==some sizes were scarce (i.e x-small).
