Looking at a CMC trigger for my 15-22 & I have a couple questions for those who have done it:

1. The info that I have read says it comes with "oversize" pins....can I use the KNS pins instead????

2. Thinking about the 5-5.5 lb. trigger, don't want ANY accidental discharges.....SAFETY is my most important consideration. What do you think????

Thanks.

I have a CMC in one. Of my AR's and I used small pins with locks, there was no mention of large pins in the instructions. The CMC is a really neat system and self contained for installation.

I have the CMC 3.5 pound trigger in my AR and love it. I don't know what to tell you about the pins other than try each set and see which fits best. The 5 - 5.5 pound trigger actually sounds heavy to me. I feel perfectly safe at 3.5 pounds. You should have the safety engaged while carrying anyway. For comparison, I have measured the triggers on all of my hunting rifles:

Winchester 94 32 Special 4 lb. 3 oz.
Winchester 70 7mm Rem Mag 3 lbs. 8 oz.
1903 Springfield 30-06 2 lbs. 7 oz.
Remington 34 .22 LR 5 lbs. 6 oz.

So-called "accidental" discharges don't exist unless something is broken; negligent discharges caused by improper firearms handling do exist.

A properly adjusted trigger well not trip unless it is deliberately pulled, no matter how light the pull. The only rifle with a pull over 3 pounds I have is my M1. All others are well under that. My 15-22 breaks at 2.4 pounds.

FWIW, I have two match pistols, one with a 19 oz pull and the other with a 14 oz pull. You can bang on them with a hammer and nothing happens unless you pull the trigger. Same with the rifles.

Love my CMC, get the 3lb trigger. the 5.5lb is not much less than the Stock Trigger
Like others says, accidental discharge isnt really a concern....

The KNS pins will work just fine, they come with pins and E-clips... i use my KNS Pins in my 15-22

Get it, youll be happy

A lot of decision is about if U wear gloves and shoot in the cold. Then U may want a stiffer trigger. If U target under controlled conditions or shoot in controlled conditions then U want accuracy first with a light trigger. I believe dropping a magazine if the firearm is loaded and safety not set may be worst accidental discharge hazard. The button and the trigger are the considerations.
