cmmg 2 stage trigger?

well im an idiot and should have come here first and done more research.

I had an impuls buy of a cmmg 2 stage trigger and it doesn't seem to work correctly in the 15-22

I think this is the trigger but the p/n on the package is 10293 and the one on the website is different

So i did the "15 min trigger job" in the mean time.

Has anyone tried it out?

I haven't tried out the CMMG two stage but I can tell you the Rock River 2 stage is great. I read some reviews on the CMMG unit and I think it might be a good idea to wait for the third generation trigger to be released from them

Thats not what i wanted to hear lol

So when its installed, it seems to take more force to cock, and with the safety in the "fire" position the trigger will not release.

big fail on my part for jumping to buy this thing.

Huh,,, I don't understand the issue your having then,,,, it looks almost the same as the stock 2 stage trigger that came in my Performance Center 15-22,,,, but with out the brass inserts,,,,,, if u haven't already try installing the 2 stage trigger with all of your factory spring,,, not sure why it would matter but who knows,,,, worth a shot,,, just really take your time and make sure every thing is as it should be,,,

The main problem is that if I install the safety the gun will not fire, no matter what position the selector is in. I can leave the safety completely out, but thats probably not the greatest idea...

If I could get past that fact then I could test fire with real ammo.

I do not think the springs make a difference, I think it might be that the back of the trigger (where it contacts the safety) is maybe thicker then the s&w parts?

take the safty out and see how the back of the trigger fits in to the safty,,,, may be some thing a simple file could fix,,,, i wouldnt just give up on a trigger that just set u back $100+

Have you contacted the manufacturer and discussed the problem with them? I would think they would be the most knowledgeable about their product.

yea im not ready to give up yet, just want to get some advice to supplement my lack of experience

I will take a look at it tomorrow evening.

You probably need to file down the flat part on the safety selector just a little bit. I had to do that on my RR trigger. It doesn't need much, I'd file for a minute then reassemble and test until it worked.

Is their a place I can get replacement parts if I manage to render it inoperable in some way?

S&W will sell u one,,,,,,, just mod the with of the notch on the selector,,, not the dept of the notch

I had to make my notch a little bit deeper to get it to work.

so CMMG sent me an interesting email:

Anyway, that is exactly what i did muleskinner. I got the files out and slowly filed the flat part of the bar down until it felt the same as when i pulled the trigger with out the selector in.

Fired a few rounds to check function and it all works!

I wont actually 'review' the trigger until i get to put a bunch more round through it, but so far i like it.
