co witnessing red dot sights with flip ups

need info on mounts for red dots tube or open that cowitness with flip up open sights. thanx. shot mine today with cheapo red dot and couldnt believe 25 yd accuracy. would like to have open sight option for ranges up to 100 yds without taking red dot off. kinda get weird looks with my military rifles when i put human silouettes at my range and blast away. always thought that was what they were designed for. not target shooting. sure is fun tho. thanx for any input.

Howdy, neighbor!

Just got a red dot today on Division at White Elephant, would also like to know
about flip sites that co-witness.

Not a pressing issue because I pretty much blew my discretionary cash today
on the red dot, laser bore siter and a riser.

It would be nice to know, for uture reference...

My magpul sites are cowitnessed with my primary arms m4. Are you looking for particular combos that work or heights?

When you say cheapo red dot I'm guessing you have something along the lines of the below with it's own low mount. If so, you'll need a 3/4'' riser like below ($10) to get it up high enough to co-witness at about lower 1/3. Flip-up sights aren't necessary unless you just want to have them.

If you don't want to go with a riser for your current red dot there are a lot of other choices. As earlier mentioned, Primary Arms has some good AR specific choices with scopes and mount combinations that are designed to co-witness. I have a Primary Arms MicroDot with flip-up Magpul sights.

Not trying to get off subject, but I have been searching all over for a good sling.
I like yours! Please tell make and model of sling, and forward rail mount. I want one.
