Swapped a friend a really nice set of N frame Targets and some $$$ for these.

I'm a bit unsure if they are Targets? Or Coke's? The gun they were on was from 1978 so I know they were not issued on them, and there is no serial number stamped inside either grip panel.

Thanks,

Those are "Coke bottle" grips. They are very nice at that...a few marks on the bottom of the right grip but very nice grain and color. They are very evenly colored as well. Usually one panel is darker than the other depending on how much the person shot handled them/shot them due to the dirt and oils on your hands.

I see no palm swell. I don't believe that they are "cokes" merely targets.

James, as you know not all cokes had a pronounce palm swell, some had more, some had less. But, they do have the other two important features, larger extended checkering and more oval shaped at the bottom that fit the hand better than later non-cokes. Once in the hand you will unmistakeably know they are cokes.

Gentlemen,

Thanks for your input and confirmation about them being Coke's. They do need a little touch up on the top right panel, where the grip meets the frame. A little of the wood is splintered outwards, but I'm sure one of our experts here can set them right without trouble. I'd rather leave it to one of them than chance making a mistake and making thing worse.

Thanks,

Murphy
