“Cokes” on a pre-27? Letter confirms!

Those cokes look like GA to me, too. I don't recall seeing cokes made of Walnut, though there is mention that some exist. Anyone have a picture of Walnut cokes?

GA for sure, looks like a bit of finish added at some point but nothing bad. The often mentioned palm swell is actually barely measurable, its more an artifact of the checkering process combined with several converging radius's. I have measured several dozen sets and the waist of the "swell" is 0.012 per panel on average.

As a matter of personal taste, I too love a set of Cokes on the 357 Magnums. Not only do they look great, but there is not a better feeling factory grip when it comes to fitting my hand. These Cokes have been repaired in several places, but still look great on this 3.5"er...

This set of cokes, was poorly modified with some finger grooves when I received them years ago.

I sent them to Keith Brown with a "help" plea. When they came back, they were reshaped and recheckered into a beautiful set of "diet cokes", which I think look great on this Model 27:

So... regardless of whether or not those specific set of "cokes" came on that 3.5" beauty when it left the factory, I love the way they look and find them additive to the gun and its aesthetic appeal.

Thanks for sharing,

Richard, Keith did a superb job “remaking” those grips! They turned out fantastic, and thanks for the before pictures. It’s unreal what someone, who knows what they’re doing, can do to something that many would think impossible.
