In my attempts to disperse some of the multitude of collectable in my possession I offer these collectable knives prior to sending to auction. I have tried to price them fairly. If they don't sell immediately you are invited to make an offer that is not a low-ball amount. Thank for your consideration.

PAUL POEHLMAN AXIAL FOLDING KNIFE, Prototype marked: US PAT. 3942249 (on button) Model 2PW (on back of blade). These knives were manufactured by Gerber as a high-end specialty knife. I got this one from a close friend who told me it was a prototype that he received directly from Paul Poehlman, a Californian aerospace engineer and a legend in the knife world. He is both a highly skilled custom knife maker and a mechanical genius. He holds over forty patents, half of them for folding knife mechanisms. The lack of Gerber markings on this example supports the "prototype" story that I cannot verify. All knives of this type I've seen were blade marked GERBER in one form or another. The scales are rosewood with no visible pins. Overall 3 3/4" closed, 2 1/2" Blade, push button and rotate to open or close. Locks open.

Poehlman started designing these mechanisms in 1970 and in 1976 received his best-known patent # 3,942,249 covering his "Axial Locking Mechanism". It was a revolutionary lock, durable and safe, open or closed. The axial lock is very precise in its fit and very smooth to operate. The model 2-P was a design for Gerber Legendary Knives of Portland, Oregon. Production of the original Paul Knife Model 2-P begun in 1977 and stopped in 1986 due to high manufacturing cost. Gerber continued to produce other Paul Knives with a modified design in the locking mechanism and fittings to reduce production costs. Very singular and collectable: $275

REMINGTON TUXEDO PEN KNIFE: twin blade with Mother of Pearl scales. I have no idea where or when I got this knife. It is in the box in as-new condition. The box has Tuxedo Pen-P on the ends and Made in USA on the sides. Overall length is 3", the long blade 1 ¾" and the short 1 ½". The long blade is marked Remington, Made in USA. The scales are genuine MOP and brass liners, in a shape known as a "swell-center" with "balloon ends". A very nicely USA made knife in As-New condition: $75

SHOTGUN SHELL FOLDING KNIFE
I got this at trade show decades ago. Visier is a German arms magazine and they are still around. It is about the size of a 12 ga. shotshell with a 2" blade marked stainless Italy. Head stamp on brass end reads INT.PAT and A.E.1301. Has the 'cool' factor and not something you are likely to run across. Others I've seen are marked China and pretty chincy looking. $15
MINIATURE CAP PISTOL: Remember these? No telling how long I've had it or where I got it. Tip-down barrel, single-shot, manually cocked hammer, single trigger approx. 7 lb. trigger pull. Marked JAPAN (a step up from current China) Cleverly brass riveted together with brass pivots for trigger and hammer. Barrel 13/16", 2" overall, checkered grips, all metal.
NO CAPS! $10
