is this the one in Houston?

if so, i have been to their showroom. Nice stuff, but never purchased as they are high but sometimes have stuff that is difficult to find.

They were all friendly and helpful which says alot as I have been in other places that had junk and were not friendly.

I have never made a purchase from them due to having a dealer as a buddy.

hope this helps.

I have not personally done business with the establishment, but a friend of mine, who lived in Houston for many years, before moving here, has. He really likes the place and has bought a number of quality firearms there. Good folks, he says.

I live in Houston and have purchased a couple of guns from them over the years. They are fairly expensive but are friendly and always treated me well. They have been in business for years and have been able to maintain their large showroom for all of that time so they must be doing something right. A visit to the showroom is an excellent way to spend an afternoon. They literally have thousands of collectable guns in stock.

Only once but it was a positive experience. Courteous on the phone and took the time to pull the gun and answer questions. Fast shipping and received in even a little better condition than described.

I've been going in there for years and have bought a few items from them. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. They have a smattering of "experts" for several types of guns, i.e. Lugers, SAA's, Mausers, etc. But go in knowing you will be paying top dollar. I've heard good things about them regarding their customer's satisfaction. If they make a mistake or inadvertently misrepresent something, they'll make it right.

I bought a shotgun from them a couple of years ago through their website. No problems at all, and I was very pleased with their service.

I have bought a fair number of guns from them ,both in person and on-line. I have found them to be accurate in their descriptions and fast in the delivery once a purchase has been made. I have within the last month bought 2 rifles from them and could not be more pleased. I most certainly will buy from them in the future.

I stop by their showroom monthly to browse. They have a very large selection of new, used and antique guns. They handle a lot of older guns that they purchase from estates. Prices are normally higher than other shops but they handle a bigger selection.

Employees in the store are always friendly and knowledgable.

Bought a high condition prewar K-22 off them several years ago after seeing it on their site. I think you won't get any smoking good deals off these guys, as they are smart, but they were fair, honest and courteous in my long distance dealing with them.

This describes my one experience exactly. It's refreshing to talk with someone while they are actually looking at the gun you are considering.

I agree with most posters. They don't deal in bargans, but they sell quality firearms and are very plesant to deal with. I have purchased several revolvers from them that were otherwise hard to find and they were as good or better than advertised.

I have purchased several firearms there...

...and it has always been outstanding. I often visit there with my two boys just to let them see some of the history there. A lot of stuff they have in their showroom is more like a museum than a gun store.
My last purchase there was a Colt Police Positive Special 4" 38 special vintage 1967.
I would trust buying a used gun there despite the prices than I would an often new one at a gunshow.

They're honest , their stuff is as described on their website, and they have a lot of interesting stuff. Unfortunately they know what it's worth.

Interesting this comes up now. Last night my youngest son and I were going thru one of my safes. I discovered an empty box that once held a high dollar/rare P210-7. Finding empty boxes is a scary thing. So I started opening gun rugs. The first one held a gun from Collectors. I forget all about it.

Earlier this week we had the thread about 44 third models, and I brought up the 4" target issue. There in the first gun rug was another 4" Target 44 3rd model!! :D It was a postwar, S71,000s gun. It came as a total shock to even see it. I just plain forgot I owned it. It came from Collectors probably 6 or 7 years ago, and its been buried. Its not a pretty or high grade gun by any stretch (but it was expensive!)

God when I die is my widow going to have problems! Yes, it is on my inventory, but it took some looking to find it there.

New issue: Anyone else here have any insight into the guns with S71,000s serials? I recall David Carroll once making a comment that a lot of interesting and odd configuration guns were from that sequence. Anyone?

I have been doing business with them since the days when they sold gold coins and a few guns. That is thirty years or more. Ownership has changed over that time, and the place is now one of the largest gun stores in Texas, but I have no complaints about their service or their ethics. They know what their stuff is worth and that is what they charge. You just need to understand that when you walk in the door.

FWIW, five years ago, one of my oldest friends went down with cancer. Just before he died, he told his wife to sell his collection and asked his lawyer (and friend) and me help her set up the sale. We contacted Jerry at Collectors to look at the collection and make an offer. We both sat with him as every piece was examined and both Ross and I independently made an estimate of what we felt was the minimum value. The offer Jerry made was well above that minimum and I think it was fair in every respect.

That is my experience, at any rate.

I've purchased two handguns from them. One was a pre 27 S&W that the salesman said "was refinished, but was a good refinish."

I got it, and the frame underneath the cylinder was wavey where it obviously had been rusted and then was ground off to smooth metal. But it was very obvious. I ultimately sold it and bought a 27-2 off this board that was in mint condition.

Just keep in mind that their definitions of good and your definitions of good might be different.

If you're buying sight unseen, make very sure you know what you're getting.
