Congratulations to Clemson Tigers for winning their game they truly dominated Notre Dame .Big shouting and hollering CONGRATULATIONS to the Crimsn Tide for winning their game also..So what happened Sooners .You guys were going to show Alabama what it was like to play a real football team. So what happened .I'm being very serious I honestly thought it was going to be a back and forth winning by maybe a field goal type game .I wish a Sooner fan would tell us .I know the Tide was too physical and it wasn't fair right.Or maybe the referees called too many things against your guys Or maybe not just Oklahoma but most of the teams out west have an elitist we deserve attitude .Who decided Notre Dame should have even been in a Playoff Game they were just well pretty bad .No defense to speak of absolutely no offense .It was pitiful .I hate to see a team just completely embarrassed like that but one field goal 1 .Anyway I mainly want to hear from OKLAHOMA fans as they have been talking about how Alabama hadn't played anyone ect and so on so what is your excuse ..Come on don't be shy .And the announcers calling the game could they be anymore biased they actually cheered when Oklahoma finally got a TD the guy actually cheered "yea yea now thats what I'm talking about thats the Oklahoma we want to see" Maybe if the game was 5 quarters maybe 6 .Oklahoma what happened y'all were supposed to stomp the Tide remember .Dont be shy you haven't been up until now .Lol even if we don't win the national title at least we beat the Oklahoma Sooners.Roll Tide Roll.

I'm sure you realize at least 3/4 of the country is tired of seeing Alabama. I understand it, I can't stand to see the New England Patriots win a game, much less a super bowl.
But I figure if everyone else hates us we must be doing something right.
Roll Tide!

Ohio State should have been in this game!

Ohio State got destroyed by Purdue, who ended the season 6-7 after getting blasted by Auburn in the Music City Bowl, and then OSU had to beat 8-5 Northwestern to win the B1G in a very down B1G year (Michigan, anyone?) Oklahoma lost by three to Texas, who finished 2nd in the Big 12 after getting destroyed by Oklahoma in the Big 12 title game. Texas is now playing on New Year's Day in Big Six bowl game.

PS: Mizzou destroyed Purdue, therefore Tiger Nation is feeling pretty good about their chances against the Buckeyes . . .

Seems to me that since I am a Kentucky fan. Big Blue Nation and all. I will root for any SEC team in a bowl game even the Orange of Tennessee"not one of my proud statements". But to see Alabama beat the Sooners was just pure pleasure. A little tense sometimes but awesome. Now what will happen this year if UCF beats LSU and we are left with two unbeaten teams? Should we have another National Championship game for giggles??
Just thoughts to think about.

Looking at the line ups on Friday, I noticed a LOT of the games were
a little off sided with the teams W/L records with the teams that they
had been picked to play with.

I also noticed how MANY bowl games that there were, this year.
.....

but that is a good thing, since $$$ going to a College is a great way to keep them going.

The only BAD thing about football after December 31st.......

is that it clashes with my "Loose weight" get fit scheme, with all
the hot dogs, chips, dips and snacks until they are all over.....

and then you have to do it AGAIN with the "Super Bowl" !!

Happy New Year..

RATS...Every good game is now on ESPN...I gave up the cable/Direct TV...So the other major outlets are left with the dregs. (And no I'm not going to subscribe to Direct TV again, just to watch the playoffs)

I had the go into town to the cigar bar, to watch the ND game. Most of my cigar was smoked by half time, and ND was getting thumped, so I came back home...Listened to part of the OK/Ala game on the radio...Gave up on that one and turned over and went to sleep, as I could tell the outcome of that one too.

Looks like Monday and Tuesday games are going to me more of the ESPN stuff again...There is one more on Tuesday, starts at noon, so I'll probably be off to town again to the cigar bar to watch that one too. RATS...I'd rather just be able to sit around the house and have my cigar, sit in my shorts and watch the game on regular tv.

You can do that at the cigar bar too-for at least 5 minutes!!! :D

Surprised OU did as well as they did, but the reality is the game was never in doubt. OU plays in a league not noted for it's defense.

Right now there is a big gap between the top two teams, Clemson and Alabama. They have more and better athlete's than anyone else.

Like to root for the Big ten in bowl season. But some of them have a bad habit of choking. Also think Alabama has a pretty easy schedule, and they don't beat themselves up over the season. But doesn't seem to detract from how freaking amazing they are in championships. Not much parity in the very top teams.

Always interesting to watch how the middle teams of the leagues do against each other. Minnesota and Badgers kicked butt, but Purdue and Michigan were way outclassed?

Am betting Alabama kicks Clemson.

Funny?

Thats funny right there I don't care who you are!

Made some money on the Orange Bowl as OU covered the spread.

What is funny:

Oklahoma winning the coin toss and deferring...with such an offensive powerhouse why wouldn't you take the ball first??

Why not once but twice when you are down 28-0 would you opt to kick a field goal when you are less than 10 yards from a touchdown?

That is the real thing that is FUNNY isn't it???

I read an article today that made lot of sense. The writer said that if we hope to have the four best teams n the country in the BCS, it's time to replace the coaches and sportswriters on the selection committee with professional scouts and others with no vested interest in the process. Made sense to me.

Mike, I agree this would be a good idea, but the problem is it would make for an all SEC playoff every year. The SEC passes the next closest conference (Big 10) by all most 100 players.

Probably because they KNEW they couldn't get it over the goal line!
