This time it blew up...
U.S. gasoline futures spike on Colonial pipe explosion in Alabama
| Reuters

This is the same pipeline that had a leak in Shlby County, AL about a month ago, which threatened gasoline supply along the east coast. They fixed that leak by looping around it. I'm guess the excavation work thaqt resulted in the line being peirced has to do with the permanent fix. Unfortunately a life was lost, and several injured in the construction crew. Given the nature of this accident and the investigation that needs to occur, I don't think this is getting fixed anytime soon like the last time.

Colonial Line 1 is gasoline, Line 2 is diesel. The explosion occured on Line 1. Both Lines are currently shut down.

I heard about it on Rick & Bubba this morning. Those fella's all live within 30-40 miles of this, and they said this issue was across the river (don't know which one) from the first problem. Gonna be a mess again . . .

Actually, it was a sub contractor employee that caused the problem. I heard, (not confirmed), that a back hoe operator damaged the pipe.
