Colt 1903

Born on date is 1917, needs a guide rod spring and some tlc.
Got this from dad, dont think its mine (yet) but i told him i would replace the spring and see how it shoots.

With age comes wisdom, Dad will thank you and probably will enjoy using HIS gun once again.:)

Thanks, i have got parts from Jacks for 2 marlin 60s.
Looked at Numrich and they do have a spring package i can get.

Great pistol, worth the effort.

Looks like a fun project. Please post pics and range report when finished.

I had one of those, also born in 1917. I really liked it but the magazine spring was weak (it was only 70 years old at the time!) and wouldn't feed the rounds into the receiver after each shot. So you might need to replace that spring, too.

Alternatively, there are after market magazines and even Colt originals out there that might work.
