Colt 1911 with unual serial number. Value?

I have 1911 Colt 45 with a SM prefixed serial number.
I have a box with the matching serial number.
I have heard that a SM prefix is for a 22 caliber Service Model.

I wonder if this unusual serial number prefix affects the value.

Pictures would be helpful. It could be a "Service Ace" with a .45 ACP slide installed. If it is a Service Ace frame with a .45ACP slide it would decrease the value.

What is the serial number?

Colt .22 LR Service Ace, #SM512, shipped in 1939.

A few years ago Colt could not produce Enough regular lowers so they started using lowers for the 22. I bought one years ago for $350 at a show just to have one. My Colt 22 slide works perfectly with it and am building another 45 slide with a red dot.

I bought it in the early 80s
The Colt was lying in the display case with a reasonable price.
I asked to see it.
When I handled it I noticed the SM serial number.
Being more than a little suspicious know that SM was for 22 caliber Ace.
I asked if there was a box.
BINGO!
Correct box for the time period.
BINGO!
Label clearly identified it as a 45 caliber with the SM number.

Reached for my wallet and said - "Write it up".
