Colt Canada

I just read on another AR forum that a member was wanting to buy an Diemaco-Colt Canada SA-15.7 & SA-20 rifle. But, another member stated they were illegal to import. Is said rifle BETTER than a Colt USA rifle? Can someone go to Canada, buy one, and bring it to the US?
I went to Colt Canada's website and looked around. They seem to build some bad*** rifles!

You would need a Canadian Firearms Licence (PAL- Possession, Acquisition, Licence) in order to purchase one in person. If you can find a Canadian retailer, I'm pretty sure it can be exported to the U.S. I've purchased firearms and parts in the U.S. and had them legally exported to Canada. There are a few Canadian companies that specialize in importing/exporting.

I went to the Colt Canada website and read it and the history on Diemaco. You Canadians sure have a VERY NICE company there making those rifles. From my research, it seems like the Colt Canada is far superior than almost ANY US made AR. That's just "my opinion." And, you know what "they" say about opinions.

Honestly I don't know enough about the AR to know what's good and what isn't. I have no experience with the Diemaco/CC stuff, and only limited experience with others. I have a couple old Colts and they seem fine to me but I'm not a hard-use/high-volume shooter with any of them.

They definitely have a following here and people speak highly of them.

From what I understand recently a bunch of older C8 uppers were surplussed and made available to the public, they are now being sold for anywhere from 7-900 (CAD). Too rich for my blood for an upper, let alone a brand new rifle. A new CC bare lower is in the 225-250 range as well.
