Anyone know anything about a Colt Huntsman w/ 4 1/2" barrel?

I picked one of these at my LGS for a pretty decent price. Appears approx. 98% but, no box or papers. Serial numbers put it at 1967.
Great shape as I believe the gun had belonged to one of the sales guys there who had recently passed.

Any info such as type of ammo, extra mags, and line on a nice old school leather holster would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Bruce

Congradulations on a nice pistol. Mine (1975 version) likes CCI ammo only. Everything else I try in it usually fails to feed. I have seen holsters on Gun Broker, EBay etc . I use a George Lawrence flap holster made for a S&W mod 10. It works fine.

I have a 1957 it works alright front sight seems a little canted mine was free from a friend.

I have one I bought used in 1965. It came with a holster. Mine has been chromed and the grips were upgraded to thumb rest grips. I used it for my CCW class and shot 40 rounds through a 2" hole. Recently, I gave it to my son to use for cheap practice and to teach the grandchildren how to shoot.

I am sure you will enjoy yours.

Colt Huntsman

It uses the same magazines as the Colt Woodsman, this is a fine pistol, you will enjoy it.

Edit: search online for "Colt Woodsman Magazine", a wealth of information will be available, I think the Mags are still available from Colt and several other sources, I recently bought two for my Huntsman, but I can't find the invoice to see where I got them from, but they are easily found.

I bought mine in 1966 in California while in the Army. It was used when I got it but in good condition. I've shot thousands of rounds through it and never had anything go wrong with it. I've used all types of ammo and never had any trouble with any that I've used. It wasn't a high dollar pistol but it sure has been a good one over the years. Take it out and enjoy it.

Thanks all,

I do believe this will be a fine replacement for the MKII that Wifey "liberated" from me.
I'd been eyeing this one for a few months and couldn't figure why no one had snapped it up. Pretty pricey when compared to some of the current .22 autos available tho - their loss.
I'll post pics when I get her out Cali waiting jail.
