Colt King Cobra .22

Has anyone seen one in the wild? Any opinions? I have been keeping my eyes peeled, but no joy. None of the dealers I have talked to have seen one. I am thinking a 6 inch version would make a nice understudy to my 6 inch Anaconda.

I've not seen one but think it'll be a winner if it's as good as the new crop of Colts. In the past year I picked up several new Colts including 3 new Pythons and all are excellent. At the moment I think I'll skip the new 22. I'm happy with the Smiths I have. My 617 and K22 would be pretty hard to beat.

I talked to a Colt rep this past weekend about the new KC .22, and he said they have not shipped yet. He also said that they'll be very difficult to get once they are released. He said they'll be much, much more difficult to get than when they released the new Pythons and Anacondas. Something about Colt not making as many of these .22s compared to the higher caliber revolvers.

I'm getting one when I see one, and have my name in for one at my LGS. But I'm not paying over msrp for this one, I'll wait for them to be more available…

I am more than happy with my 617 and 18, but .22's are like potato chips, or so they say....

I just passed on a 3 inch Python at retail earlier this week, holding out for the .22 KC. But, if a 4 inch Anaconda comes out in the meantime, I'll bite.

I couldn't wait any longer for Colt after I walked in on a nice 617-6 ,4 inch at my local gun/pawn shop yesterday. Went in to look at a HS Supermatic Military [$799.00] they had listed at GB. But when I saw the stainless Smith that was it. Put 1/3 down towards $845.00. I'll pick it up next month as I didn't win the mega million jackpot, dadgummit.

That's just good decision making, and a good deal too! You can always get the KC later, but that 617 sitting there at $845 is not something you'll see very often….

I just ran into a 4" 617 a month ago and couldn't get my wallet out fast enough. Forget what I paid, but I think it was $1k? I've also got a 6" 617, and some 17s, and some Colt Officers Match's, Colt New Frontier, Single Six Rugers, Model 34, etc. I love shooting .22lr revolvers!

Colt 22

For my wants I really hoped "the" Colt 22, when it arrived, would be a Diamondback. Maybe a shorter barrel than the purported 6 incher (3 ?) would excite me but I`m still glad the new Colt management is "movin`on up".

The pictures look interesting. Colt is giving the 22LR King Cobra a barrel with a ventilated rib and a long ramp from the frame to the front sight mount, reminiscent of the Diamondback.
