I need some ".41 frame" or E or I frame wear parts.

Are they even made anymore by Colt or aftermarket sources?

I found one place that had them, but $47. for just a hand plus shipping is ludicrous!

You should have heeded the warning. That pony is agitated because he can’t get his timing repaired.

In simple terms a S&W guy can understand, what’s the difference between an E frame and an I frame?

You don't name the place you found that had them, but if it wasn't Jack First, you could try them - quality folks.

$47.00 for a factory part that isn't made anymore, but is in relatively high demand, isn't too bad.

'E' is the Official Police size frame (called a .41 cal frame)

'I' is the same size as the 'E', but has the firing pin mounted in the frame instead of on the hammer.
Pythons are an 'I' frame.
Everything else inside is the same on an 'E' and an 'I'

I think some of the Trooper models were 'I' frame also. Others I can't think of.

Parts are where you can find them. Most are well used parts stripped from well used guns.
I haven't been able to locate a source of 'new' D/A parts. Colt hasn't been helpfull in quite a while, I stopped asking them.
Once in a great while you stumble accross some NOS parts at a show from a out of business gunsmith stash. But that's getting really rare of late.

There is a parts place called VTI Gun Parts I believe that has a lot of hard to get parts.

VTI is primarily an Italian import parts house.

I will try Jack First- I should have tried them first.

That price for a hand or other small parts, is ludicrous!
