My father left me his other 2 colt guns that I found in a closet in the garage
I wanted to find out the value, history and date of
manufacturer of it.

Well, this is the S & W Forum but let's give this a whirl.

Have a look at Colt's Manufacturing LLC

45233 shows up as a .38 Super 1911 style pistol from 1947. This one has an older factory .22 conversion unit on it. Perhaps your father wanted a .22 companion gun to...

46258, which (not surprisingly) shows up as an original .38 Super, also from 1947.

Those are very, very, very cool guns. Not as valuable as the pre-war versions but very desirable. Do you have the 38 Super slide for the one wearing the 22 conversion unit? The conversion unit is worth a minimum of $500, maybe more like $750 these days. The 38 Super is probably in the $3k range (I sold a '57 in nickel for that five years ago) as would be the other if you have both slides. And of course as inheritances from your dad they are priceless. I haven't been buying Colts much lately but that is a pair I'd love to own. And, can't tell from the picture, but if those are ivory grips, even better. Enjoy.

I tried to sell this one (1948) about 4 years ago, took it to some gun shows, guys looked at it , but scoffed at the 4 thousand I wanted , and the 750 for the 22 conversion. So I put it away. Hooked up with a collector /seller of high end colts, due to the condition, especially the box and paperwork, I got 7500. Thanked him and he told me he had some buyers who would pay him more. So dont sell yourself short on the value of those guns.

Also those grip panels were quite the rage in that day, and could be very valuable if they are from the same time as the guns. I had a friend who had a pair and the eagles had ruby eyes..
