The snub is a stock M&P, just well worn.
The 3" was sent from S&W directly to Kings Gun Sight Co. in S.F. so it is likely the work was done there though I have no papers directly saying so though the letter from Roy figures that such was the case.

This old Colt Detective Special .38 is in the Fitz style. It's nicely done, but it is a copy.
.45 Colt New Service. The finish is blue-white and looks like chrome rather than nickel. Joe bought it from a state investigator who said he sometimes carried it for the heck of it.

688: Great lookin guns. Love that old nickel Colt with the 3 inch bbl. What a hoot to have carried that plainclothes. You would have been the envy of every officer in the squad.

bronco45, when I bought that revolver from an old friend we were at a gun show. He showed it to me, we agreed on a more than fair price, I paid him, and then he reached into his pocket, handed me 6 rds. of Winchester 45 Colt HP and an inside the belt holster with the words "this should see you home". I offered to lend him a snub but typically he said "walk with me to the car and I will get another". I did and he did and we were both more than happy with the outcome. All my best, Joe.
