Combat Handguns Going Away

Rifle and Handloader magazines years back could always be counted on as having real gunsmithing articles in their monthly issues. American Rifleman magazine as put out by the NRA was the same. Now except for the machinists magazines put out by the Village Press you rarely see a build or anything like that. You'll see more builds or gunsmithing articles on the online forums. Frank

i was only reading the articles, I was not looking at those beauties

So, you don't much mind that they went from a full 12 issues a year to just ten? And sub. prices didn't change.

I gather that we are no longer discussing, Combat Handguns? :D

Gentlemen, say what you will, but I will miss the print magazines and "real" books. I hate the fact that Harris is closing ,I subscribed to three or four of their gun mags and enjoyed everyone, some months more than others, but enjoyed none the less. I am also sad to see their people losing their jobs. The only thing constant in our lives ,unfortunately, is change.

I like gun magazines. It's all part of the hobby. Just like motorcycles. Subscriptions are usually a dollar or two per issue... cheap entertainment and a way to keep current even though at times I feel like I'm laughably operating in the past. :D

I like this web site.

I like Forgotten Weapons, Peashooter85 and a number of other firearms related blogs.

I've recently been watching C&RSenal's WWI firearms YouTube videos.

NONE of them is a BOOK, much less a Collector Grade book.

There's NO website that can hold a candle to a copy of "The Devil's Paintbrush"... or even a classic issue of "Small Arms Review".

Oh, and the ransomware hasn't been written that can encrypt my first copy of "Small Arms of the World"...

Chin up gents. They said vinyl records were a thing of the past. Nope, they sand ''dumb'' cell phones and home landlines, are making come-backs. Just the ''dumb'' cellphone sales from last year alone, were over $7 billion dollars. This mag may be done but, someone else will pick up and run with the ball.

Print isn't dead and I don't support electronic ''print'' material.
