When did the Mod 15's go from dull blue to bright blue finish? Mine is Ser# 1K564xx, 1971 I think, and has the brighter blue. Thanks

I think the M15's all had "regular" blue but depending on who polished it at the factory, some are brighter than others..My 15-2 in blue(B on label) has a finish as nice as my bright blued M19-3(BT). Its hard to tell the differerance many times

I have a 15-4 that appears to be blued over a sand blasted surface, looks almost like parkerizing.

Could they be Air Force guns? I remember the later m-15s we had looked like they were parkerized.

I could part my hair if I had any in the finish on my 1977 15-3 snubbie. It's beautiful.

I have one from '52 with the dull or satin finish, and I have a -1 that is bright, I have always suspected a refinish on it, but I see no evidence of it.

My 1970 15 has a nice bright blue to it, discounting a few ugly bits.
